About

Madison Webster is a painter based in Edinboro, Pennsylvania, pursuing her MFA at PennWest Edinboro University. She received her BA in Studio Art from Queens University of Charlotte in 2023. Her paintings combine the figure and still life through constructed narratives painted from observation in her studio. She explores abstract, personal feelings through scenarios that often feel nonsensical, balancing humor and unease through the use of old toys, familiar objects, and the figure interacting with them.

Her process is informed by collecting objects, often found while antiquing or looking through prop rooms. The act of constructing these scenes is an important part of her practice. In her current body of work, she uses her studio space as her stage, exploring what is able to be created within the limitations of the space.

Madison’s work has been exhibited in The Erie Art Museum, The Elder Gallery in Charlotte, NC, and at Utah State University’s national juried exhibition.
